New Car

This was an epic driving weekend of car shopping! Last week the Volvo was officially "totaled" by our insurance company. We met with them late in the week and they gave us a check for the value of the car, and we had the green light to go out and find me a new car. Luckily we had been scouring the local dealerships all week, so we had an idea of what we were looking for. We wanted a new Jeep Cherokee.

Sounds simple right? We live in the largest city in the entire state of Montana (oh boy 100,000 people!) And there is a Jeep dealership in town. Well they didn't have a single Jeep Cherokee in stock. They had a base model of one a week prior that we test drove, and an upgraded version that was $10,000 MORE than our budget.

So Brad did a fabulous job of looking online and found exactly the car I wanted, it just so happened to be in Whitefish, Mont. Which is 8 hours away! So, we got our puppy-sitter on the phone and left promptly at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday to purchase my first new car.

Brad had a great idea and we got a one-way rental car to take out to Whitefish. We were able to drive up together in this tiny little Mazda 2, and return together in our new car!

When we got to the dealership it was sitting right out front, in total Jeep perfection. It is a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. It has a V6 engine, and the most gorgeous espresso-brown interior with red detail stitching. I'll post interior photos tomorrow when it's daylight out and I can get a great photo. We fell in love with it!

We spent the night at a Holiday Inn Express, and when we got there we were told that Brad was named the "guest of the day." So he got a funny little sign posted in the main hallway, and a goody bag full of chocolate, granola bars, water and candy. Fun :)

So after more than 16 hours worth of driving we are finally back home, safe and sound. I start my new job tomorrow and our puppy is growing like a weed. Check out this cutie (and Zahzu standing on her very tippy toes for a treat!)

  1. Love the new car! I drove Patrick's Cherokee while he was out of town this week and it's awesome.
